Model Academy Sagra was established in 1999 as a civic action program for Mendhar Tehsil. The school was adopted by Army in 2003. Initially the school was upto Cl V. Subsequently upgraded upto Cl VIII. The school is managing by Balnoi Battalion under the supervision of Krishna Ghati Brigade.

History

1. Model Academy, Sagra was eastablished in 1999 as a civic action program for Mendhar Tehsil. The school was adopted by Army in 2003. Initially the school was upto Cl V. Subsequently upgraded upto Cl VIII. The school is managing by Balnoi Battalion under the supervision of Krishna Ghati Brigade.

Motto

2. The School motto is “Enlightenment through Education” inspires the children to excel as education is the only mean for the overall development of the society.

Aim

3. The main aim of the school is to impart quality education in English medium to the children and to imbibe strong leadership values in them.

Activities

4. Classes runs upto Class VIII (Upgradation to High School shortly).

5. To prepare children for Sainik Schools, Army Public School Beas, Udhampur and Rashtriya Indian Military College.

6. To impart moral education to children to make them responsible citizens of India.

7. To develop all round curriculum and social values amongst the students.

8. To impart IT training to students from an early age to make them computer literates.

9. To impart vocational training as part of hobbies so as to equip the children with skill.

10. To equip selected children for higher studies.

11. Special attention is paid to co-curricular and extra curricular activities to help build character and impart vocational skills to children. Some of the important activities are :-

(a) Picnics.

(b) Celebrations of national events.

(d) Educational Tour.

(e) Adventure activities under OP Sadbhavana.

(f) Inter school competition to inculcate competitive spirit.
